PRIDE HOST NEWBURY ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College women's soccer team has earned the No. 3 seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference Women's Soccer Tournament and will host No. 6 seed Newbury on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

The Pride (10-5-2, 7-2 NECC) posted their third-straight season with 10+ wins this year, winning their final four games to earn the No. 3 seed. Regis won all seven of their NECC matches this year via shutout, outscoring opponents 21-0 in those matches.

Newbury enters the tournament with a 2-5-1 mark in the month of October. The Nighthawks' only two wins of the month came against Wheelock (W, 9-2) and at Daniel Webster (W, 8-0).

Regis and Newbury met last Wednesday with the Pride securing the 1-0 victory. Olivia Hamill (Sudbury, Mass.) scored the lone tally of the match as the Pride outshot the Nighthawks at a 45-2 clip. Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) earned the victory, making one save.

In the other First Round action, No. 2 seed Elms plays host No. 7 Bay Path University, while No. 4 Becker will host No. 5 Southern Vermont College. Semifinal games on Thursday, November 6, will feature the winner of the Southern Vermont-Becker contest at Lesley, and the higher seeded survivors will host the lower seeded winner of the Newbury-Regis and Bay Path-Elms contests.
