PRIDE SCORE LATE TO EARN 2-2 DRAW

BOSTON, Mass.Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) and Hannah Bouvette (Mattapoisett, Mass.) scored their first goals of the season, with Bouvette's coming in the 87th minute, as Regis College overcame an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 draw with Emerson College on Tuesday night in non-conference women's soccer action. The Pride move to 4-4-2 in 2014.

The first half saw the Lions rip out to a quick start with the first shot of the game finding a home in the back of the net as Tayllar Righini put a ball through the left side to find Mollie Coyne who put a two touch shot into the right side of the net. Coyne struck again in the 19th minute of play again with Righini setting her up with a through ball that she beat the defender on with a one touch blast off her left foot into the top right of the net.

The Pride struck back in the next few minutes after a communication breakdown with the defense left Allie Altman defenseless as Adena Joseph stepped through the ball to blast one into the right side of the net. The rest of the half remained quiet outside of Tayllar Righini nearly netting one off the top post as the teams headed into the half with EC up 2-1.

The game got a little more chippy in the second half with two yellow cards given out to keep the game at bay. The Lions outshot RC 10-5 in the half, but couldn't push one across with Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) doing work with five saves. The Pride scrapped back though in the 87th minute as EC's defense couldn't handle a cross from Olivia Hamill (Sudbury, Mass.) that Hannah Bouvette turned around to crank into the net to send it to OT.

Overtime saw both teams press as hard as they could with Emerson putting up five more shots in the first OT and another in the second. Rachel Gagnon was phenomenal in the half with some clutch saves thoughout as the Pride grinded out the time to the 2-2 final.

Regis returns to New England Collegiate Conference action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Mitchell College for a 1:00 p.m. match.
