GAGNON AND SALLES SWEEP NECC WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) and Tais Salles (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) earned New England Collegiate Conference weekly honors this week, as Gagnon was named the NECC Player of the Week, while Salles was selected as the top rookie.

Gagnon made seven saves as part of a 2-1 victory over Eastern Nazarene College last week. The junior goalie is currently ranked fourth in the NECC in goals-against-average (1.53) and saves (35), while ranking sixth in save percentage (.814) and third in wins (2).

Tais Salles scored her first career goal, which ended up being the game-winner during the 2-1 victory over the Lions. Salles took a through ball from teammate Jasmin Vivar (Attleboro, Mass.), stayed onside, dribbled the ball through the defense and blasted a shot into the back corner of the net.

The Regis College women's soccer team returns to action on Tuesday afternoon as the Pride host the University of St. Joseph (Conn.) at 4:30 p.m.
