REGIS SELECTED SECOND IN NECC COACHES POLL

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis College women's soccer team has been selected to finish second in the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) this season, according to the preseason coaches poll that was announced on Tuesday morning.

The Pride received 88 points and two first-place votes in the poll, which is determined by a vote amongst the conference's coaches. Regis finished behind only Lesley, the defending NECC Champions, who garnered eight first-place votes and 98 total points to top the poll.

Elms (77), Becker (67), and Mitchell (57) rounded out the top five spots, respectively. With 47 points apiece, Newbury and Southern Vermont tied for the sixth position. Closing out the bottom half of the poll are Bay Path, Wheelock, and Daniel Webster.

The Pride, who return a pair of All-NECC First Team-ers in sophomore Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) and junior Kristen Abreu (Woburn, Mass.), open up their season on Sept. 4 as they travel to New England College for a 5:00 p.m. showdown.
