GAGNON COLLECTS THIRD NECC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – For the third time this season, freshman goalkeeper Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) of the Regis College women's soccer team has been named the New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week, following a strong showing in three games this week for the Pride.

Gagnon registered two shutouts in a 2-1 week for Regis, capped by a trip to the program's first-ever NECC Championship game. In a 5-0 win over Newbury College in the Quarterfinals, Gagnon made two saves. The rookie followed that with a 12 save performance in a 1-0 victory over Elms College in the Semifinal match. In the Championship game, Gagnon was once again solid, making 10 saves in a close 1-0 loss to the Lynx of Lesley University. Gagnon was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts.

The Pride, who sit at 11-3-3 on the season, will await word on a possible postseason bid this week.
