PRIDE FALL TO LESLEY ON LAST SECOND GOAL

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Lesley was taken to the 110th minute by Regis in a battle of NECC undefeateds, but the Lynx pulled out a thrilling 1-0, double-overtime victory over the Pride on an Alexis Giusti (Meridian, Calif.) goal with 18 seconds remaining in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action Tuesday night.

The Guisti game-winner came at 109:42 on a pass from Veronica Halen (San Diego, Calif.), who spotted Giusti from the 18 on a chip over the defense for the forward to insert the game-winner at the inside post. Halen's league-leading eighth assist provided the sophomore the most memorable of her NECC-best three game-winners, keeping the Lynx on top of the NECC standings.

Lesley outshot Regis 7-2 in the first half, but 14-1 the remainder of the way, earning all of the match's six corner kicks.

Regis goalkeeper Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) made a game-high seven saves, while Lynx keeper Emileigh Lloyd (Middletown, Pa.) made three saves in earning her fourth shutout.

The win improves Lesley to 11-1-2 and a flawless 6-0-0 in NECC play as the last remaining undefeated team, giving the Lynx sole possession for first place. Paul Vasconcelos' club also remains unblemished at home, improving to 6-0-0 at Edward Field.

Regis, meanwhile, drops to 7-2-2 and 4-1-1 in the NECC.

Lesley returns to play Thursday night in non-league action at Brandeis at 7:00 p.m. The Pride plays host to Southern Vermont on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
