AQUADRO'S HAT TRICK LIFTS PRIDE OVER DANIEL WEBSTER

WESTON, Mass. – Freshman Devinne Aquadro (Sturbridge, Mass.) scored her first career hat trick, picking up three first-half goals, as the Regis Pride picked up a 7-0 win over the visiting Daniel Webster College Eagles in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The win moves the Pride to 7-1-2 overall on the year (4-0-1 in NECC), while the Eagles fall to 1-8-0 (0-4-0 NECC) with the loss.

Aquadro started off the scoring for the day at the 5:53 mark when she headed the ball in the net off a corner from sophomore defender Jackie Rocheville (Salem, Mass.). In the 23rd minute of play, junior Tess McLean (West Roxbury, Mass.) added to the lead following a scramble in the box. The ball deflected off a Daniel Webster defender and found the feet of McLean, who calmly placed a low shot toward the inside left post and beat goalkeeper Jennifer Fredericks (Beacon Falls, Conn.) for the 2-0 lead.

Aquadro found the back of the net for the second time less than four minutes later after she received a great pass at the top of the box from sophomore Jasmin Vivar (Attleboro, Mass.). Aquadro received the ball and blasted a shot over the head of Fredericks. The rookie scored her third and final goal of the game at the 30:27 mark when she beat two defenders and dribbled just inside the box, then placed the ball into the lower left side of the net for the 4-0 score.

The Pride continued their domination in the second half of the game, tacking on three more goals. Samantha Salamone (Milford, Mass.) one-timed the ball into the goal off of Vivar's second assist of the game in the 51st minute for her first career goal. Just over two minutes later, Vivar found the back of the net on an unassisted goal after she cut the ball past an Eagle defender and took a shot that sailed over Fredericks' outstretched hands.

Germaine Pacombe (Holbrook, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for the Pride in the 88th minute of play. Pacombe dribbled past an Eagle player and took a rocket of a shot at the top of the box. Fredericks got a piece of the ball, but was unable to make the stop. The goal marked Pacombe's first career tally for the Pride.

The Crimson & Gold outshot the Eagles by a 46-0 margin. Despite the loss, Fredericks had a standout performance in goal for Daniel Webster, recording 23 saves on the day.

Both squads will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 16th. Daniel Webster will look for their first NECC win as they host Southern Vermont at 2:00 p.m. The Pride will travel to Lesley for an 8:00 p.m. start time.
