THREE GOAL FIRST HALF PROPELS LESLEY PAST PRIDE

WESTON, Mass. – Lesley University received a pair of goals from Jenna Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) and another from Kate Ryder (Glastonbury, Conn.) as the Lynx defeated Regis College, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in NECC action in Weston, Mass. The Pride drops to .500 at 7-7 overall and 3-5 in the NECC while Lesley improves to 11-3 and a perfect 7-0 in league play.

The Pride celebrated its annual senior day and honored classmates Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.), Kara Sharples (Pawtucket, R.I.), Bethany Frye (Adams, Mass.), Kelly Cadigan (Ware, Mass.) and Michelle Mitropoulos (Arlington, Mass.) in a ceremony before the game to recognize their contributions to Regis College and its athletics department.

Lesley wasted no time trying to find an early goal as Veronica Halen (San Diego, Calif.) took the first shot of the game for either team and rattled it off the crossbar a mere :49 seconds into the game. The Lynx would find the back of the net just over five minutes later as Jenna Fralick took a through ball from midfield off the foot of Jackee Sanchez (Santa Clarita, Calif.) and buried the ball in the bottom right corner for the early 1-0 lead. Fralick would find the scoring column a second time in the 18th-minute when the senior received a pass from Veronica Halen and laced the ball past the outstretched hands of Michaela Yebba for a 2-0 Lesley advantage.

Fralick later assisted on Kate Ryder's fifth goal of the season with just under 18 minutes to play in the opening frame. That would be all the offense in the game as the teams played to a draw the rest of the contest.

The Lynx held a 26-2 advantage in shots while also holding an edge in corners, 7-1. Michelle Sirois (Easton, Mass.) attempted both shots for the Pride. Emileigh Llyod (Middletown, Pa.) picked up her 11th win of the season while making a pair of saves in the shutout. Michaela Yebba turned away 10 shots in the setback.

Regis returns to action on Wednesday night when they travel to the campus of Daniel Webster for an NECC contests at 3:30 p.m. Lesley looks to build on its eight game winning-streak when the Lynx take on Southern Vermont on Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
