HAWKS FLY PAST PRIDE, 3-1

LEICESTER, Mass. - The Regis College women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to Becker College on Tuesday night in New England Collegiate Conference action in Leicester, Mass. The Pride falls to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the NECC while Becker improves to 5-4-2 and a perfect 3-0 in league play with the win.

The Hawks scored first when Jodi Theriault (Woodstock, Conn.) ripped a shot from the left hash mark, into the top right hand corner of the net. Becker made the score 2-0 with 6:51 remaining in the first half on Jodi Theriault's second goal of the game. The Hawks increased their lead to 3-0 when Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, N.Y.) tallied her team-leading ninth goal of the season with just five seconds remaining in the first half.

The Pride finally got on the board with 16:07 remaining in regulation when Becker misplayed the ball in front of their net, scoring an own goal, making the score 3-1.

The Regis goalkeeper duo of Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.) and Kara Donovan (Woburn, Mass.) combined to turn away four Becker shots. Hawks goalkeeper Kaitlyn Rose (North Attleboro, Mass.) made four saves in the win.

The Crimson and Gold will try and snap a two game skid when they travel to Elms College on Saturday afternoon for a league game at 4:00 p.m. The Hawks return to action on Saturday morning when they host Newbury College in an NECC match scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
