LIONS CLAW PAST REGIS FOR 5-0 VICTORY

QUINCY, Mass. – The Regis College women's soccer team suffered only its second loss of the season in a 5-0 setback to Eastern Nazarene College on Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action. The Pride fall to 4-2 this season while the Lions improve to 5-4.

Sophomore Erin Daley footed the Lions first goal shortly after the four minute mark on a long shot over the head of RC goalkeeper Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.). The goal was assisted by Jackie Greenwood, who set Daley up perfectly, for what would be her first collegiate score.

Senior Kara Webber led the hunt for the Lions, scoring three goals in the first 30 minutes of the contest, to net her second career hat-trick. Webber's goals were scored in an impressive five minute margin, between 25:54 and 29:39. Junior Morgan Goodney assisted Webber's first goal on a tricky pass through the defense.

ENC's final goal of the day came from freshman Sam Williams who dribbled around several Pride defenders to net the fifth score of the contest in the 81st minute.

Michaela Yebba suffered the setback for the Pride, allowing four goals and making three saves in the first half. Junior Kara Donovan made five stops and allowed one goal while playing the second half. Freshman keeper Rachel Henry picked up the win for the Lions while making four saves.

The Lions got 25 shots off, 13 of which came on goal. Regis was aggressive in the second half, with six of their nine shots being taken in the final 45:00. Regis' freshman forward Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) was responsible for one-third of the Pride's shots, taking three on the day.

The Crimson and Gold return home to take on Wheelock College on Saturday afternoon at 12:30 p.m. as a part of Homecoming Weekend. The Lions face off against Newbury College tomorrow afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in Quincy, Mass.
