CORREIA HAS SIX SAVES IN 5-0 LOSS

NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 23, 2010 – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team celebrated senior day with a 5-0 victory over the visiting Pride of Regis College, on Saturday afternoon. Colby-Sawyer improves to 5-11-2 overall and 4-7-1 in The Commonwealth Coast Conference. Regis falls to 3-14-1 overall and 0-11-1 in TCCC play.

Junior Abby Wills (Uxbridge, Mass.) began the scoring for Colby-Sawyer in the 10th minute when she put home her third goal of the season on a pass from senior Katherine Lee (Clinton, N.Y.).

 Lee scored the next two goals of the contest in a 34 second stretch on assists from sophomore Colleen Coburn (Middletown, Conn.) and senior Liz Williams (Norwell, Mass.).

 Senior Erinn Ring (Worcester, Mass.) joined her senior teammates in the point column with a goal in the 23rd minute off a feed from Lee.

 Sophomore Ekta Sampson (Hyde Park, Vt.) recorded the final Colby-Sawyer goal of the match in the 27th minute on another assist from Katherine Lee. The goal for Sampson was her first collegiate tally.Lee finished the day with two goals and three assists.

 Colby-Sawyer sophomore goalkeeper Shalyn Spencer (Natick, Mass.) recorded her fourth shutout of the season and made one save. Junior Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.) made one save in 34 minutes, while freshman Samantha Correia (Berlin, Mass.) did not allow a goal in 56 minutes and made six saves.

 Colby-Sawyer wraps up its regular season on Wednesday with a 7:00 pm match at Wentworth. Regis concludes its schedule also on Wednesday with a 3:30 pm tilt at Roger Williams.
