FRYE HAS TEAM-HIGH IN SHOTS, FALLS TO GORDON

WESTON, Mass.—Gordon College (4-0, 1-0 TCCC) continued its undefeated season as it won its The Commonwealth Coast Conference opener versus Regis College (1-2, 0-1 TCCC) 5-0 Saturday.

Karina Scavo (Mount Sinai, NY) scored three goals for Gordon, while Caitlin Nedde (Colchester, Vt.) and Katie Thompson (Long Valley, N.J.) scored a goal each. Regis keeper Bethany Frye (Adams, Mass.) had seven saves for the Pride.

Gordon had 21 shots, with 13 shots on goal. Frye, who also played in the field for Regis, had a team-high two shots, with one being on Gordon’s keeper Kari Christenson (Standish, Maine).

Scavo and Angela Munoz (East Stroudsburg, Pa.) assisted on the Thompson and Camille Audette (Whitinsville, Mass.) goals respectively.

The Scots scored three goals before intermission. Five goals were the second most goals that Regis has given up this season. The first was 10 goals given up to Lyndon State at the beginning of the season.

Regis College will travel to Becker (Sept. 14) in hopes of even its record at .500. Gordon hosts Salem State (Sept. 16) looking to keep its undefeated season intact.
