PRIDE TAKE PINE MANOR 3-1 IN SEASON ENDING MATCH

Weston, Mass.-In the last game of the regular season, Regis College (3-17, 1-12 TCCC) women's soccer was determined to end on a high note as it defeated Pine Manor College (2-7-1, 1-9-1 GNAC) 3-1 Thursday evening.

An unsuccessful penalty kick by Beth Deegan (Philadelphia, PA) early in the game would have tied the score at one all for the Gators, but a diving stop by keeper Jackie Sullivan (Naples, FL) kept the Pride lead intact.

The Pride's Meghan Roan (Whitman, Mass.) opened the game breaking away from the Pine Manor defense to take on the Gators Kayla Nielsen (Saco, Maine). Nielsen contested the shot, but slipped past Nielsen to score the Pride's first goal10 minutes into the period.

Roan would score her second goal at 29:04, as she again found herself taking on Nielsen. Determined to not let Regis runaway with the game easily, Alicia Grenier (Swansea, Mass.) would slip her shot past Sullivan with less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half.

Each team battled defensively for the entire second half, keeping one another from attempting any easy scores. Freshman Sasha Desrosiers (Boston, Mass.) looking to make sure the Pride's senior day ended with a victory, broke for the Pine Manor goal on a pass from Roan, and found herself striking the back of the net to give Regis a commanding 3-1 lead at 80:35.
