WNEC HANDS REGIS SECOND STRAIGHT LOSS

Weston, Mass.-Looking for a late season win over The Commonwealth Coast Conference opponent Western New England College (5-10, 4-6 TCCC), Regis College (2-14, 1-9 TCCC) would find itself unsuccessful, falling 5-0 to the Golden Bears Saturday afternoon.

Western New England would have an impressive 33 shots on the day. Heather Mortell (Webster, Mass.) led all players with seven shots, and four of those shots being on goal. Mortell would also score two goals for the Golden Bears. Her first goal would come at the 13:23 mark from Shivaun Wheeler (Southington, CT).

Mortell would later score her second goal, unassisted, at 27:32. The Golden Bears Molly Chamberlin (New Britain, CT) scored the team's second goal of the day, assisted by Morgan Vogt (Henniker, NH) and Mortell.

Mortell added to her assists when she aided Cathy Regan (Monroe, CT) at 47:47, and Kristen Culver (Westhampton, Mass.) at 71:37.

As a team, Western New England held Regis College to three total shots, with all three coming from the Pride's Megan Roan (Whitman, Mass.). Freshman Jackie Sullivan (Naples, FL) had nine saves on the day for Regis College. The Pride heads to Roger Williams University Tuesday, Oct. 21. The Golden Bears will take on New England College.
