HAWKS TALLY 5 GOALS IN THE FIRST, DEFEAT REGIS 7-0

Weston, Mass.-Roger Williams (5-3-1, 3-1 TCCC) confirmed its victory with a 5-0 first half score, and go on to defeat Regis College (1-6-1, 0-2 TCCC) 7-0 Saturday.  The Pride would project their strength on the defensive end and would hold Roger Williams scoreless within the first 25 minutes. 

The Hawks sophomore forward Laurin Pendleton (Southwick, Mass.) would go on to score the first goal in the (time) minute.  The Hawks next goal would be scored by sophomore midfielder Devon Leighton (Scarborough, Maine) in the 27th minute.

The Hawks would then continue their aggressive attack on the Pride defenders as sophomore forward Katie Fusaro (Hopkinton, Mass.) would score in the 30th minute, and would go on to score another goal less than five minutes later. 

Finally, junior forward Heidi Kunkel (Northfield, VT) would go on to score in the 58th and 72nd minutes respectively.

As a team the Hawks had 31 shots. Fusaro and Pendelton would take seven and six shots respectively. Each would average 1.5 shots on goal in the match.

Four Roger Williams players would tally assists. Roger Williams only allowed one shot by the Regis offense. Jen Garside (Londonderry, N.H.) would be credited with the shutout.

Freshmen Bethany Frye (Adams, Mass.) and Ashley Hibbard (Marlborough, Mass.) split time in the net, tallying nine and four saves respectively.

Regis College continues its TCCC play when it matches up with Nichols College Oct. 1. Roger Williams will face Colby-Sawyer on the same day.
