BIDDEFORD, Maine -- Six different players found the back of the net as the University of New England defeated Regis College, 8-0, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon.
The Nor'easters upped their record to 5-1-0 with the victory, 2-1-0 in conference play. Still winless on the season, the Pride now stand at 0-5-1 overall (0-2-0 TCCC).
Junior Kristin Meza (San Diego, Calif.) led the way for UNE with a career-high three goals and an assist, while senior Ali Trafton (Manchester, Maine) and first-year Monica Meza (San Diego, Calif.) each contributed a goal and an assist.
Sophomores Katie Caron (Winslow, Maine) and Alice Read (Auburn, Maine), and first-year Lauren Blaisdell (Scarborough, Maine) scored the other goals for the Nor'easters, who out-shot Regis by a margin of 42-0.
The Pride, who host Wheelock College on Thursday, received 16 saves from first-year goalie Ashley Hibbard.
UNE is off until Saturday, when Endicott College comes to town for a 4 p.m. battle between two of the conference's top teams.
