Weston, Mass.-The Regis College women's soccer team will square up against Salve Regina for the first time on newly built athletic field Saturday September 19, 2009 at 12:00 pm.

Senior Meghan Roan (Whitman, Mass.) along with sophomores Julia Austin (Norwood, Mass.) and Kelly Cadigan (Ware, Mass.) all split a goal a piece on the season and will look to lead the Pride attack on the Seahawks.  Roan is also leading the team in the assist category.

Freshman Ashley Hibbard (Marlboro, Mass.) and junior Samantha LaFrance (Savoy, Mass.) are also looking to show some strength in the Pride's offense.  The Regis College defense will show off their toughness on the defensive end as freshmen goalkeeper Bethany Frye (Adams, Mass.) will play her first home-opener of her college career, and will look to show off her skill in front of the net.

Sophomore Kara Sharples (Pawtucket, RI) and Senior Marie Kong (Boston, Mass.) will also be helping Frye in defending the Seahawk attack.

The Seahawks of Slave Regina are on a three game winning streak, under freshman Kaitlyn Birrell (Hope, RI) who leads the team with 8 goals on the season.  Alongside Birrell in the Seahawk striking offense is sophomore Liz Galla (Beacon Hills, Conn.) who is second on the team with 4 goals and is also tied with Birrell with two assist on the season.  Another obstacle the Pride will have to overcome is senior goalkeeper Katie Vaudrain (Pawtucket, RI) who has a total of 42 saves and has a 3-2 overall record.

The Regis College women's soccer team is looking to get its first win of the season in their second conference matchup of the 2009-2010 season.
