WOMEN'S SOCCER REPEATS AS NSCAA TEAM ACADEMIC AWARD WINNER

Kansas City, KS- The Regis College Women's Soccer Program has been awarded the 2008-09 Team Academic Award by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and will be recognized by the organization at its Annual National Convention in Philadelphia, Penn., on the weekend of January 15-17th, 2010.

The Pride, claiming its fifth Team Academic Award in the last six years (2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2009) under the tutelage of eighth-year Head Coach Mark Clemente, captured a team cumulative grade point average of 3.15 in the past year.  The Regis Program is the only soccer team, men or women, in The Commonwealth Coast Conference to have earned the 2008-09 award.  Teams are eligible to receive the awards from all three NCAA Divisions (I, II, III), NAIA, and Junior College Institutions.

In a letter from NSCAA Executive Director Joe Cummings presenting the Award, Cummings comments; "This achievement sets your team apart from other teams, demonstrating your program's commitment to achievement on the field and in the classroom.  We hope you will display the enclosed certificate in a place of honor befitting the accomplishment of your student-athletes."
