
Pride Close Regular Season with 11-4 Victory
WESTON, Mass. – Regis College Women's Lacrosse wrapped up their regular season with a strong 11-4 win over Anna Maria at Regis Stadium tonight. The victory brings the Pride to an even 8-8 overall record and a 6-5 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play.
Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.) led the offense with four goals, while Maddie Sainato (Wilmington, Mass.) contributed two goals and an assist. Retta Hatin (Hooksett, N.H.) turned in a standout all-around performance, tallying a goal, two assists, eight ground balls, and three caused turnovers. In goal, Allayna Martone (Elkridge, Md.) made six saves to secure the win.
For Anna Maria, Olivia Stump and Riley Michaud each scored twice, and goalkeeper Grace Holden made an impressive 23 saves in the loss.
How it Happened:
- Four minutes into the game, Mason slipped one past Holden for the first—and only—goal of the opening quarter, giving the Pride a slim 1-0 lead heading into the second.
- Stump tied things up for the Amcats at the 10:55 mark of the second quarter. Holden made four key saves to keep things close, but Mason broke through again with a shot into the right corner, reclaiming the lead for Regis with 4:29 left in the half. She added another goal before the break, completing a first-half hat trick and sending the Pride into halftime up 3-1.
- Mason opened the third quarter by burying a free position shot—her fourth of the night. Stump responded to cut the lead to 4-2 with 12:55 on the clock, but Regis seized control from there. Sparked by two goals from Serenity Ayala (North Brookfield, Mass.), the Pride outscored the Amcats 5-0 over the rest of the quarter to take a commanding 9-2 lead into the final frame.
- Retta Hatin added a goal and an assist in the fourth, helping Regis tack on two more and seal the 11-4 win to close out the regular season.
Inside the Numbers:
- Audrey Mason accounted for all three of the Pride's first half goals, and their first four goals of the game.
- Retta Hatin and Reese Hatin (Hooksett, N.H.) had season highs in ground balls with eight and six, respectively.
