Pride Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at GNAC Championships

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Regis College men's cross country team finished fifth at the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Cross Country Championships, hosted Saturday by Norwich University.

Riley Stogsdill (San Diego, Calif.) finished fourth with an eight-kilometer time of 27:37.2, earning First Team All-GNAC honors. He averaged 5:33.5 per mile as he finished 11 seconds in front of his nearest competitor.

Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) was the next Pride runner to cross the finish line, ending up in 20th place with a time of 29:48.4. Brian LaPorte (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished 35th place overall with a time of 32:00.2, followed by Ben Myette (Hanson, Mass.) in 46th place with a time of 33:18.6.

Kederson Pierre (Everett, Mass.) completed the course in 33:59.6 to cross the finish line in 53rd place, and Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.)  posted a time of 35:54.5 to finish in 62nd place overall.

As a team, the Pride finished in fifth place with 118 points. Norwich took the team title with 30 points, followed by Saint Joseph's College with 57 points and Colby-Sawyer College with 86 points.

Regis College will wrap up the 2024 season at the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship, to be held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., on Saturday, Nov. 16.
