Pride Men’s Cross Country Back on Course in New Hampshire

KEENE, N.H. - The Regis men's cross country team returned to competition Saturday morning at the Keene State College Invitational held at the Owl Athletic Complex.

Benjamin Happenny (Woonsocket, R.I.) once again led the Pride, finishing in 44th place overall with a time of 28:28.5. Zach Sigman (Buffalo, N.Y.) completed the eight-kilometer course in 29:22.9 to end up in 61st place overall.

Brett Kiesel (Rocky Hill, Conn.) was the third Pride runner to cross the finish line, posting a time of 32:40.7 over the eight-kilometer course. Chris Margiatto (Suffield, Conn.) completed his first collegiate eight-kilometer event with a time of 37:03.9. Ben O'Neal (New Britain, Conn.) posted his first result of the 2022 season with a time of 37:17.9, as did Jacob O'Neal (New Britain, Conn.) with a mark of 38:25.5.

As a team, the Pride finished in 13th place with 371 points, ahead of fellow GNAC programs Dean, Emmanuel, and Lasell. Eastern Connecticut State put four runners in the top 15 on its way to the team title with 56 points, and Matthew Driben of Brandeis earned the individual title with a time of 24:53.3.

Regis College will next compete in two weeks at the Suffolk Invitational at Franklin Park in Boston Saturday, Oct. 15, starting at 2:30 p.m.
