WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman JJ Pedersen (Milford, Conn.) and sophomore Maggie Mann (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) of the Regis (Mass.) men's and women's cross country teams have each been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Cross Country Rookies of the Week.
Pedersen wins the award for the first time this season after finishing in 40th place at the Codfish Bowl on Saturday with a time of 29:11 in the 8k race. The result marked Pedersen's second consecutive race for the rookie in which he was the Pride's highest finisher.
Mann wins the Rookie of the Week award for already the third time this season after a strong showing of her own at the Codfish Bowl. Mann finished 26th in a field of 183 runners on the day, posting a time of 20:39. Mann previously took home Rookie of the Week honors on September 5 and September 18.
Both cross country teams will be off until October 7 when they race at the James Earley Invitational in Westfield, Mass.
