Men's Volleyball Holds First Practice of 2018 Season

WESTON, Mass. - The Regis (Mass.) men’s volleyball team held its first practice of the 2018 season on Monday afternoon at Higgins Court in preparation for the team’s first season in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference.

The Pride started the day with a team lift in the Carr-Simeone Fitness Center in the morning before taking the court for volleyball-related activity in the afternoon.

"It's always good to get back out there and get some quality touches on the ball," said second-year coach Marc Turiano. "Over the course of this week and the next it'll be a progression and working our way from the ground up. We just need to get used to playing with each and incorporating the new players and we'll be in good shape."

"We have a veteran group of guys to set the tone at practice," added senior libero Chris Fitta. "We're all looking really well. It's just a matter of knocking the rust off."

The Pride is just over two weeks away from opening up its 2018 season, as the team kicks off with a road match against MIT on January 23. The Pride’s first home match comes two weeks later, when the team hosts Pine Manor on February 7, and the team plays its first ever GNAC match on the road at Mount Ida on February 24.
