WESTON, Mass. – Marc Turiano has been selected as the new head coach for the men's and women's volleyball team at Regis (Mass.). The announcement came Thursday by the Regis Athletics office.

"Coach Turiano is going to be an outstanding addition to the Regis coaching staff," said Pam Roecker, Regis Interim Athletic Consultant. "He joins the Regis community with a reputation as a tireless worker, talented coach and lifelong volleyball enthusiast. He has demonstrated dedication to his student-athletes at every program he has been involved with and his commitment and strategic approach to recruiting is going to benefit the men's and women's volleyball programs and well as the Regis community."

"I am excited about the opportunity to coach at Regis," added Turiano. "My hope is that both men's and women's teams compete on a daily basis to maximize their potential with the programs continuing to grow as we move into the GNAC."

Originally from Andover, Mass., Turiano joins the Regis staff after four seasons as head women's volleyball coach at Salem State University. In his three seasons for the Vikings, he compiled the second-most wins and conference tournament appearances in program history. His tenure at Salem State was his second with the program, serving as assistant coach from 2008-11.

Before his most recent post at Salem State, Turiano was the assistant women's coach for two seasons at Missouri State University-West Plains, a Division I NJCAA school. While there, the team was consistently ranked in the Top 20 nationally and had one second-team All-American and two academic All-Americans.

Turiano attended Fordham University in New York before receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in physical education from Salem State in 2010, graduating Summa Cum Laude. During that time, he coached for the Fordham Preparatory School men's team and was an assistant for Salem State while earning his degree. He also coached at the North Shore Junior Olympic Volleyball Club.

Turiano began his playing career at perennial power St. John's Prep and returned to his alma mater in 2009, guiding the team to the state championship match that season, the state semifinals in 2010, and the state playoffs in 2011. The team finished the 2010 season ranked No. 39 in the ESPN Rise Volleyball Fab 50 rankings. He also helped develop numerous all-conference, four all-state, one Massachusetts Player of the Year and multiple all-scholastic award winners.

Turiano also holds a Master of Education from Northcentral University in San Diego.
