BISNETT NAMED NECC ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College freshman outside hitter Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) has been named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Year, it was announced by the conference offices on Monday afternoon. Bisnett helped lead the Pride to a 12-11 overall mark this season and the program's first appearance in the NECC Postseason.

Bisnett was also named to the All-NECC Honorable Mention Team, joining Joe Coye (Plaistow, N.H.) who was named to the conference's All-NECC First Team.

Sean Bisnett averaged 3.60 kills and 2.04 digs per set while maintaining a .276 hitting percentage over 12 conference matches. Bisnett ranked among the top four leaders for both conference play and overall play in five different categories, including total kills (273 overall), kills per set (3.37 overall), service aces (32 overall), points (320 overall), and points per set (4.0 overall). Bisnett was named the Rookie of the Week on five separate occasions this season. The rookie was named to the NECC All-Tournament Team after posting 12 kills in the 3-0 Semifinal setback to eventual champion Endicott College.

Joe Coye garnered the program's first-ever All-NECC First Team selection and averaged 2.67 kills and 1.22 digs while maintaining a .363 hitting percentage over 12 matches in NECC play. Coye ranked first in the conference for hitting percentage in both overall play (.348) and in conference play. His 30 total blocks in the NECC was the fourth highest of all players and he ranked sixth for blocks per set in both overall play (.64 b/s) and league play (.67 b/s). He ranked fourth in NECC play in solo blocks (9) and block assists (21). The sophomore also ranked sixth in total kills and total points for conference matches.

This season Coye and Bisnett rewrote the Regis history books as Coye became the all-time leader in kills (299), while Bisnett posted a new single-season record for kills with 273. Coye's .203 attack percentage is now the best in program history, and both are now in the top 10 in career service aces. Bisnett set a new record for digs in a season (159) and entered the top 10 in career blocks, while Coye has taken over as the all-time leader in blocks, posting 77 in just two seasons at Regis.
