COYE & BISNETT SWEEP NECC WEEKLY AWARDS

WESTON, Mass. – Two members of the Regis College men's volleyball team have been recognized as New England Collegiate Conference weekly award winners for their stellar play over the weekend. Joe Coye (Plaistow, N.H.), a sophomore middle blocker, was named the NECC Player of the Week for the first time in his career, while freshman outside hitter Sean Bisnett (Oxnard, Calif.) was named the NECC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive time.

Coye and Bisnett led the Pride to a 3-0 week after they picked up wins over Elms, St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, and CCRI. Regis has now won five straight matches and set a new program record for wins in a season.

In Friday's 3-1 win (25-20, 25-19, 22-25, 26-24) over the Blazers, Coye had nine kills and nine digs, while Bisnett had 18 kills to go along with a pair of aces and eight digs. On Saturday, Regis opened up with a 3-0 sweep (25-6, 25-13, 25-15) over the Bears before winning their second match of the day, a 3-2 victory over the Knights (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 17-25, 16-14).

In the first match, Coye tallied seven kills and six digs, while Bisnett posted six kills. In their closing match of the weekend, Bisnett led the Pride with 14 kills and added seven digs, while Coye was not far behind with 13 kills, seven digs, and five total blocks.

Coye, Bisnett, and the rest of the Pride (5-3) will look to continue their winning ways when they head to Endicott College on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. NECC matchup.
