PRIDE FALLS IN TRI-MATCH

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men's volleyball team traveled to Bennington, Vermont Saturday (Feb. 26) to compete in a tri-match against Daniel Webster College and Southern Vermont College.

In the first match of the day the Pride played Daniel Webster College.  The Eagles took the first set under the strong play of Joe Walz who had 13 kills and 12 digs on the match.  The Pride battled back to take the second set by the score of 25-23  under the strong play of senior James Guaragna(Quincy, Mass./Brighton) and junior Andrew Carroll (Natick, Mass./Natick). Guaragna and Carrol sparked the Pride's offense but this solid performance was not enough as the Eagles went on to take the following two sets 25-8, and 25-14.

In the second match the Pride faced Southern Vermont. The Pride put in a solid effort but was defeated by the Mountaineers in three sets by the score of 25-16, 25-13 and 25-15. Drew Wilder (Brockton, Mass./Brockton) and Stefan Todorovic (Los Angeles, Calif./Notre Dame) played well for the Pride.

The Pride moves to 0-13 on the season and will have its next matchup on Thursday (Mar. 3) against Newbury College at 7:00 p.m.
