PRIDE SET FOR TRI-MATCH AGAINST MOUNT IDA AND NEWBURY

Weston, Mass.—The Regis College men’s volleyball team is set to take on Endicott College Wednesday (Feb. 16) at 6:00 p.m. The Pride enters the contest with a record of 0-7 and is 0-6 in the New England Collegiate Volleyball Association. The visiting Gulls enter the contest with an overall record of 6-7 and are 3-1 in NECVA play.

The Pride is led by Junior Andrew Carroll (Natick, Mass./Natick ) who has tallied a team high of 32 assists on the season.  Dan Berdichevsky (Wayland, Mass./ Wayland) has turned out to be a great asset to the Pride’s offense by tallying 19 kills on the season. Senior James Guaragna (Quincy, Mass./Brighton)has helped out on the Prides defensive side tallying a team high of 19 digs.

The Gulls are led by Jeremy Siden (Natick, Mass. / Natick) who has tallied 144 kills on the season and Jeremy Schlosser (Emmaus, Pa. / Emmaus) who has recorded 390 assists on the season. The Gulls are currently on a five game losing streak.

This will be the first of a three matches this week for the Pride. Saturday (Feb. 19) the Pride will host the visiting Mustangs from Mount Ida College and the Newbury College Nighthawks in a tri-match.

The Mustangs enter the match with an overall record of 2-9 and are 1-4 in NECVA play.  The Mustangs are led by Thomas Belton (Springfield, Massachusetts/Springfield Central) who has a team high of 75 kills on the season. Spencer Hastings (Orlando, Florida/Timber Creak) will look to contribute on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, tallying 70 kills and 59 digs on the season.

The Nighthawks enter the tri-match with a record of 9-5 and are 4-0 in NECVA play. The Nighthawks are led by James Beck (Havre De Grace, Md./Havre De Grace) who currently leads the team in kills. Michael Biuso (South Setauket, N.Y./Ward Melville) leads the defensive side of the court tallying 105 digs on the season.

The first match is set to start at 11:00 a.m. and will be played at Higgins court.
