Regis Cruises Past Becker, Runs Table In NECC

LEICESTER, Mass.- Regis College defeated Becker College 8-1 in New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis action on Monday afternoon. The win clinches the fourth consecutive season in which the Pride went undefeated in NECC regular season play as they improve their record to 14-6 (8-0 NECC). The Loss drops the Hawks record to 6-2 (6-2 NECC).

Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) and Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) got the Pride off on the right food as they defeated Becker's Daniel Dettinger-Klemm (Centerville, Mass.) and Aaron Peterson(San Diego, Calif.) in top doubles action with a score of 8-3. The Regis duo of Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) make quick work Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.) and Brittan Morris (Cedar Park, Texas) in number two doubles play, 8-0. The Pride completed the sweep of doubles when Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) and Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) outlasted Throngpol Chinpanjapol (Barre, Mass.) and Francis Musick (Laurel Springs, N.J.), 8-5.  

After dropping the first set 6-7, Harrow rallied to defeat Dettinger-Klemm in top singles action with wins of 6-1 and 10-7.  Horton earned his second win of the day after downing Peterson in number two singles play with scores of 6-2 and 6-1. In number three singles play, Polley battled past Morris in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Quattrociocchi finished his impressive day with a 6-0, 6-0 defeat of Allison in the fourth singles match. Becker captured their first victory over Regis in nearly two years when Chinpanjapol defeated Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Hildreth made the final score 8-1 with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Brian Fradsham (West Boylston, Mass.) in number six singles action.

Becker will host Eastern Nazarene College tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. Both teams will move on to the NECC Tournament on Saturday, April 23rd. Seedings for the tournament will be announced by the league off later in the week.
