Men's Tennis Tops Wheelock, Eyes No. 1 Seed

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis men's tennis team moved within one win of earning the New England Collegiate Coast tournament's No. 1 seed and with it a chance to host throughout, beating Wheelock 8-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Regis Courts.

The Pride improve to 13-6 overall but more importantly a perfect 7-0 and one game ahead of Becker in the league standings. Regis and Becker will square off in the regular season finale on Monday at 3:00 p.m.

Wheelock drops to 3-8 overall and 3-4 in conference.

Regis was the dominant team on the day, losing only at six singles. Doubles play saw Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) and Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) win at the one and the team of Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) victorious at the two, both by 8-4 scores. Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) and Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) won their third doubles match, 8-0.

The Pride swept all of their singles wins with Harrow defeating Arvin Hedayaty (Tarzana, Calif.), 6-0, 6-1 for the fifth point to clinch the match. Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) topped ReAnn Rivera (Salem, N.H.) to put Regis up 4-1 in what was the most dominant win at 6-0, 6-0.
