PRIDE SWEEP LYNX, 9-0

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team defeated Lesley University 9-0 Wednesday evening at the Nicholas Athletics Center. With the victory, the Pride move to 10-6 and remain undefeated in the New England Collegiate Conference at 4-0 and the loss drops the host Lynx to 0-3 and 0-3 in league play.

Regis swept through doubles play 3-0 with the duo of Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) earning a win at no.1 doubles.

Freshman Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) got a victory at no 1 singles when he defeated Niko Marcolini (Newbury, Mass.) 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Jack Alaev (Moscow, Russia) took a decision at no. 6 singles 6-0, 6-0 versus Pierre St. Simon.

Devon Mayo (Newport News, Va.) won the only point of the entire match for the Lynx at no. 5 singles after he took a marker in the first set against Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.). Morgenbesser would win the match 6-1, 6-0.

Regis returns to the court on Saturday when they travel to conference opponent Mitchell for a 1:00 p.m. duel with the Mariners while the Lynx head to the Sportsmen's Tennis Club in Dorchester for a date with Wheelock tomorrow at 8:30 p.m.
