PRIDE SELECTED AS MEN'S TENNIS PRESEASON FAVORITE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team was a unanimous selection for the top spot in the 2016 New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis preseason poll it was announced Friday afternoon. Voting was conducted by the league's five head coaches.

The Pride, who finished their fall schedule with a 6-1 mark and are the three-time defending NECC Champions, received all five first place votes. Returning for the Pride is reining NECC Rookie of the Year Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.) who finished his freshman campaign with a 15-5 overall record at No. 2 singles and a 16-5 mark in doubles play.

Regis is riding a 35-game regular season winning-streak against NECC opponents, and the team is 47-1 in the regular season since joining the league in 2011.

Becker was picked to finish second in the poll, followed by Mitchell in the third spot, Lesley in fourth and Wheelock rounding out the rankings in the fifth spot.

The Pride return to action on when they open their spring schedule during their spring break trip in Orlando against Judson (IL) at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
