REGIS RALLIES PAST CORSAIRS, 6-4

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – After being down 2-1 after doubles play, the Regis College men's tennis team rallied back and defeated UMass-Dartmouth 6-3 on Tuesday evening. With the victory the Pride improve to 2-0 on the year and the loss drops the Corsairs to 0-1.

The Crimson and Gold lost two matches in doubles play, but earned a win at No. 2 doubles with Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) beat the duo of Andrew Burdick (Dartmouth, Mass.)/Cory Hoi (Westerly, R.I.) 8-2. Regis responded by taking five of six singles matches including No. 2 singles where freshman Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) beat Chris Ouellette in three sets 7-6, 4-6 and 12-10. Quattrociocchi and Polley each responded from a strong victory in doubles by winning No. 3 and No. 4 singles while newcomer Cam Charbonneau (Guilford, Conn.) took the deciding match at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1 against Zach Pavao.

Regis returns to the courts to kick off Pride Fest on Saturday, September 26th as the men welcome Wentworth to campus at 10:00 a.m.
