REGIS TO CO-HOST ITA SUMMER CIRCUIT TOURNAMENT

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College and Wellesley College will be co-hosting an ITA Summer Circuit Tournament on Saturday, July 12, through Monday, July 14. This marks the first time that the ITA will host a tournament in the Boston metropolitan area after spending years in Vermont.

The "open" tournament will feature DI, DII and DIII current college players and recent college graduates as well as rising high school juniors and seniors. 114 tennis players, 64 men and 50 women are registered to play both singles and doubles.

Singles will be played in a best of three set format with a match tiebreak played in lieu of a full 3rd set. Doubles will follow the college format of an 8 game pro set. Coach Ciarleglio is pleased to report that four players on the Regis men's team will be competing. Senior co-captain Mike Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) will be playing along with his doubles partner, sophomore Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.). They will be joined by incoming freshmen Scott Barrett (Burlington, Mass.) and Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass.).

Recent Regis graduate Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.), who played all four years at Regis, will be the Tournament Director at one of the sites.

"It's both exciting and very gratifying for me to see our players participating in this high level regional tournament," stated Coach Ciarleglio.
