PRIDE FINISH UNBLEMISHED NECC REGULAR SEASON

WORCESTER, Mass. – Regis College defeated Becker College 9-0 in New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis action Wednesday afternoon. The Pride improves their record to 15-6 (8-0 NECC) while the Hawks sink to 5-5 (3-4 NECC).

In top doubles action, Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) and Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) made quick work of Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.) and Aaron Peterson (San Diego, Calif.), 8-0. Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) and Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) captured number two doubles by defeating Becker's Thomas Lanphear (Manchester, Maine) and Thomas Nourie (Morgan Hill, Calif.), 8-0. In the closest match of the day, Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) and Jeremy Morgenbesser (Bayport, N.Y.) bested Brittan Morris (Cedar Park, Texas) and Francis Musick (Laurel Springs, N.J.), 8-3.

Michael Beluch defeated Aaron Peterson in top singles action with scores of 6-0 and 6-1. Nathan Cohen and Matt Quattrociocchi captured the second and third singles sets, blanking their opponents 6-0, 6-0. In number four singles play, Jarid Polley soared past Connor Allison 6-1, 6-0. Nick Hildreth collected the victory in number five singles, 6-0, 6-1 over Thomas Nourie. Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) defeated Oliver Awat (Springfield, Mass.) in number six singles play with scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

Becker returns to the courts tomorrow afternoon when they host Mitchell College in their regular season finale at 3:00 p.m. Regis has earned the top seed in the upcoming NECC tournament and will host the fourth seed on Saturday, April 25th.
