PRIDE CLAW HAWKS 9-0, WIN STREAK REACHES SIX

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team defeated Becker College 9-0 on Tuesday evening in New England Collegiate Conference action played at the Regis College Tennis Courts. The victory was the Pride's sixth in a row and move the team to 12-6, 5-0 NECC. The loss drops the Hawks to 3-3, 1-2 NECC.

Regis swept doubles and singles play taking all matches. This is the sixth straight 9-0 win against opponents and the fifth straight against NECC teams.

The duos of Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.)/Chris Harrow (North Reading, Mass), Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.)/Matt Quattrociocchi (Germantown, Md.) and Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.)/Jarid Polley (North Reading, Mass.) all earned victories during doubles play.

After sweeping doubles play, Regis needed two singles victories to take the match. The Pride didn't disappoint as they swept through singles play. The match clinching contests were at No. 1 singles were Michael Beluch defeated Aaron Peterson (San Diego, Calif.) 6-0, 6-1 and at No. 2 singles as Chris Harrow beat Thomas Lanphear (Manchester, Maine) 6-0, 6-1.

Regis would sweep through No. 3, No.4 No.5 and No. 6 singles by not losing a set and go on to take the match 9-0 against the Hawks.

The Pride return to action on Thursday, April 16th when the team squares off against NECC foe Mitchell for the first time this season with match time slated for 4:30 p.m.
