REGIS COMPLETES PERFECT NECC REGULAR SEASON

LEICESTER, Mass. -  Regis College senior Mike Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) and freshman Jarid Polley (Reading, Mass.) helped combine for a trio of wins to help pace the Pride to an 8-1 victory over Becker College in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action this afternoon at Leicester Middle School.

With the victory, the Pride move to 13-5 overall and finish their regular season with a sparkling 10-0 record in NECC play. The Hawks slip to 5-6 on the year and 4-6 in league action.

Both squads will square off again in this week's conference playoffs when fourth-seeded Becker travel to top-seeded Regis again on Wednesday afternoon in the NECC Tournament Semifinals at 4 p.m.

Beluch and Polley teamed for the 8-1 victory as the top seed before freshman Nathan Cohen (Randolph, Mass.) and senior Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) staked the 8-3 win at second doubles.

Regis senior Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) and freshman Nick Hildreth (Harvard, Mass.) completed the sweep of pairs play with an 8-5 triumph at third doubles over freshman Aaron Peterson (San Diego, Calif.) and classmate Connor Allison (Hillsboro, Ore.).

Beluch, Polley, White and Parrish were then victorious in their respective match-ups at singles play.

Beluch dispatched his opponent 6-0, 6-1 at first singles, Polley earned the second flight win 7-5, 6-2, White followed with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph at third singles before Parrish registered the 6-2, 6-3 win at fifth singles.

Hildreth needed an extra set to defeat Becker freshman Tyler Newsome (Brantford, Ontario) at fourth singles, 6-2, 1-6 and 10-8, while the Hawks scored their lone point at sixth singles when junior Guilleromo Roma-Rodriguez (Madrid, Spain) earned the 6-3, 6-3 win over Pride freshman John Carraccio (Wethersfield, Conn.).

The contest marked a rescheduled regular season make-up date from Sunday, April 13.
