BELUCH NETS ECAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Days after being named the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Player of the Week, junior Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) of the Regis College men's tennis team has also been named the Corvias Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Player of the Week for the Division III New England region. Beluch went 2-0 in singles and doubles play last week to help the Pride to a pair of 9-0 sweeps over Salve Regina and Becker.

Beluch opened up the week with a 6-0, 6-1 win at first singles and later teamed up with freshman Jarid Polley (Reading, Mass.) at first doubles for an 8-2 win, as Regis shut out the Seahawks on Thursday afternoon. On Saturday, the junior then helped the Pride pick up their first NECC win of the season in their conference opener against the Hawks. He won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while he and Polley won 8-1 at No. 1 doubles.

The Crimson and Gold (4-5) have won four straight matches and will host Mitchell today at 4:30 p.m. in what will be a rematch of last year's NECC Championship.
