REGIS DROPS 6-3 DECISION TO CRUSADERS

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Regis College men's tennis team fell to Susquehanna University, 6-3, on Monday afternoon in Hilton Head, S.C. The Pride (0-4) return to action tomorrow afternoon with a 12:00 p.m. match against Emory & Henry.

In doubles play, Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.) and Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) fought back after being down a break early in the set to rally past Michael Hickey and Garrett Lynn in No. 1 doubles, 9-7. Austin Nace (Sarasota, Fla.) and Jeff Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) dropped an 8-4 decision to Mats Haaland and Jeremy Neville in No. 2 doubles, while the senior pair of Mouhamed Diallo (Boston, Mass.) and Sophorn Nop (Lowell, Mass.) fell in No. 3 doubles, 8-3.

Beluch continued his strong play at No. 1 singles, battling back from a 1-4 deficit in the first set to win the tiebreaker 9-7 and continuing hitting well to take the match 6-3 in the second set. SU's Garrett Lynn defeated Jeff Parrish, 6-4, 6-3 in No. 2 singles, while Andy White was victorious in his No. 3 singles matchup with Jeremy Neville, 6-2, 6-2. The Crusaders swept the final three singles pairings en route to the 6-3 victory.

"The men started out their spring season against a tough opponent and showed a lot of heart in their play," said Coach Ciarleglio. "We will keep playing hard through the week to get ourselves prepared for our NECC matches this spring."
