MEN'S TENNIS ANNOUNCES 2013 SPRING SCHEDULE

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College men's tennis team is excited to announce its spring 2013 match schedule, which will feature five home matches. After beginning the fall schedule with three nonconference losses, the team will look to bounce back and make its mark in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play.

The team is fresh off their most successful season in program history after posting an impressive 13-7 overall mark, highlighted by a trip to the NECC Championship match. Regis returns five members from last year's squad, including reigning NECC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.).

For the third season in a row, the Pride will open the spring season on the road for their annual trip to Hilton Head, S.C. during the week of Spring Break (March 4). The trip will feature four nonconference matches.

After a short break in action, conference play begins on March 23 as the team will host Lesley (6-7), who the Pride defeated three times last season, including once in the NECC Semifinals. On March 27 the team will be away against Newbury (1-10) before hosting perhaps its toughest NECC opponent, Mitchell (12-2) on April 2. After splitting matches with Mitchell during the regular season, the Mariners came away with a 7-2 victory in the NECC Championship.

The Crimson & Gold will play two matches against Wheelock (2-10) in a span of three days, first traveling to Wheelock on April 4 before hosting the Wildcats on April 6.

Becker (5-10) will travel to Weston, Mass. on April 9 for the first of two regular matches. The Hawks played the Pride to two close matches last season, with Regis coming away with both wins. Just two days later, the Pride are on the road again against Mitchell.

Regis will host Newbury for the final regular season home match of the season on April 16 before wrapping up the regular season on the road against Lesley (April 18) and Becker (April 20).

The NECC Semifinals are scheduled for April 24 and the NECC Championship is slated for April 27.
