PRIDE GRAB SECOND SEED, HOST LESLEY ON WEDNESDAY

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College has earned the second seed in the upcoming New England Collegiate Conference men's tennis tournament, it was announced by the conference offices yesterday. The Pride (12-6, 9-1 NECC) will host Lesley University (6-6, 5-5 NECC) on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

Regis enters the NECC postseason riding a seven-match winning streak including a win over top-seeded Mitchell College, 6-3, and a 7-2 win over Lesley last Thursday afternoon. Mitchell takes on No. 4 seed Becker College on Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

Regis and Lesley have met two previous times this season, with the Pride taking both decisions from the Lynx. Regis opened conference play back on March 29th with a 6-3 win over Lesley and followed that up with last Thursday's 7-2 win.

The Pride have been led by the strong play of standout freshman Michael Beluch (Lynn, Mass.), who has posted a 12-6 overall record at No. 1 singles – including a 9-1 record in NECC play. Beluch and doubles partner Andy White (Bozeman, Mont.) have gone a perfect 6-0 since teaming up at the No. 1 doubles position. Jeffrie Parrish (Framingham, Mass.) has also had a strong year in singles play, going 7-3 in conference matchups in multiple singles positions.

Lesley University also enters the playoffs on a small winning streak as the Lynx defeated Newbury College to help grab the No. 3 seed and followed that up with a 6-1 win over Albertus Magnus in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.
