Pride Men’s Swim and Dive Earns Repeat Win Over Chargers

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Regis College men's swimming and diving team collected its second dual meet victory over Colby-Sawyer College in the span of a week, defeating the Chargers, 109-82, Friday afternoon at the Knight Natatorium.

Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa) continued his strong season with three individual event victories, touching the wall first in the 100 butterfly in 56.50 seconds, the 100 freestyle in 53.19 seconds, and the 100 individual medley with a personal season-best time of 1:01.12. Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) picked up victories in the 50 breaststroke in 31.72 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.28.

Michael Curtis (Burlington, Mass.) won the 50 freestyle with a personal season-best time of 24.72 seconds, followed by Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) in second place in 24.84 seconds and Samuel Madriz (Union, N.J.) in fourth place in 27.14 seconds. Curtis then posted scores of 126.00 in the one meter diving event and 121.43 in the three meter diving session, his best six-dive score of the season at three meters.

Nagaraj won the 50 backstroke with a time of 28.86 seconds and finished second in the 100 freestyle in 54.91 seconds. Madriz finished in second place in the 100 butterfly with a personal season-best time of 59.14 seconds.

Regis College (5-4 in dual meets) will head right back into competition Sunday, Jan. 15, starting at 2 p.m. at Gordon College for a double-dual meet also involving Husson University. The Pride will then conclude the regular season next Saturday, Jan. 21, against Elms beginning at 11 a.m. at the Regis Pool.
