Record-Setting Diving Performances Pace Pride Men to Dual Meet Victory

WESTON, Mass. - The combination of record-setting diving performances and strong swims by several competitors led the Regis College men's swimming and diving team to a 101-30 victory over Saint Joseph's College Saturday in a dual meet at the Regis Pool.

Liam Austin (Boston, Mass.) set the five-dive school record in one meter diving with a score of 125.75, while Michael Curtis (Burlington, Mass.) broke his own school record with a six-dive score of 161.45, plus he set a new 11-dive score program record with a total score of 281.20.

Aryaman Nagaraj (Watertown, Mass.) led a 1-2 finish in the 50 freestyle, finishing first in 24.35 seconds just ahead of teammate Cody Werner (Bettendorf, Iowa) in 24.69 seconds. Nagaraj also finished first in the 100 freestyle with a season-best time of 52.75 seconds, while Werner touched the wall first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:08.47.

Ryan Kim (Los Angeles, Calif.) finished first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:36.75 as well as in the 200 breaststroke with a season-best time of 2:17.01, just 9/100ths of a second off the pool record. Samuel Madriz (Union, N.J.) posted times of 2:05.71 in the 200 freestyle and 2:14.17 in the 200 butterfly, plus he anchored the 200 medley relay, joining with Nagaraj, Kim, and Werner for an overall time of 1:50.31.

Regis College (3-4) hosts Elms College Friday evening, Dec. 2, starting at 6 p.m. at the Regis Pool.
