Pike Leads Regis Men’s Swim Team as NEISDA Meet Concludes

KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior Brendan Pike (Weymouth, Mass.) scored 27 points in individual events Sunday as the Regis College men's swim team concluded its participation in the 2022 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at the URI Tootell Aquatic Center.

Pike posted a season-best time of 17:06.13 to finish fourth in the 1650 freestyle, missing a podium finish by just 1.21 seconds. After qualifying for the 100 individual medley final with a personal-best time of 56.04 seconds in the morning preliminaries, Pike came close to that time in the evening final, finishing seventh in 56.06 seconds.

Pike concluded the meet by leading off Regis' 400 freestyle relay with a 100 free split of 51.13 seconds, teaming with Bryce Toumayan-Miller (Natick, Mass.), Sam Madriz (Union, N.J.), and Robert Wood (Cathedral City, Calif.) to post an overall time of 3:37.99, ending up in eighth place.

Madriz posted a personal-best time of 2:12.19 in the preliminaries of the 200 butterfly to qualify for the A-final, followed by an eighth place finish in the evening with a time of 2:19.80.

The Pride men remained in seventh place in the team standings, totaling 175 points over the weekend. The NEISDA meet capped off a season that also included a fifth place finish at the GNAC Championships three weeks ago.
