Unas, McQuaid Voted NEISDA Weekly Award Winners

WESTON, Mass. – Senior Joshua Unas (Santa Clarita, Calif.) continues to add to his swimming resume, as he received Co-Male Swimmer of the Week, while junior Elisabeth McQuaid (Marlborough, Mass.) notches another award to her collegiate diving career, earning Female Diver of the Week from the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA), announced Thursday by the coaches' organization.

In the final dual meet of his collegiate career, Unas began the day by anchoring the 200 medley relay to a convincing victory by almost 28 seconds as the relay squad posted a total time of 1:51.95. Unas then won the 50 breaststroke in 30.03 seconds and the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.68. Unas also anchored the 800 freestyle relay as the squad posted a winning time of 8:08.72, establishing a new pool record in the process.

McQuaid won the one-meter 11-dive event in Saturday's dual meet against Elms with a score of 401.00. It is her second official score above the NCAA Regional qualifying mark, making her eligible for the NCAA Northeast Regional diving meet at MIT March 1-2.

Unas receives his second weekly award from the NEISDA this season, previous earning Swimmer of the Week honors Oct. 25. McQuaid picks up her fourth NEISDA Diver of the Week award in a row and sixth overall this year.

The Regis College swimming and diving teams head to Boston for the GNAC Championships at Simmons University Feb. 1-3.
