HIGGINS AND LUONG EARN WEEKLY HONORS

WESTON, Mass. – Regis College's Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) and Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.) were named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Swimmers of the Week earlier this week.

Higgins, the 2014 GNAC Rookie of the Year, had a strong meet in the Pride's first meet of the season last Saturday. Higgins picked up wins in the 50 yard backstroke (30.49), 50 yard freestyle (26.89), and 100 yard backstroke (1:05.92). She also swam the first leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay, helping set the table for the Pride's win with a time of 1:50.29.

Kiet Luong also had a strong meet on Saturday, posting wins in the 100 yard butterfly (57.41) and 100 yard backstroke (55.33). Luong was also the first in the pool in the 200 yard medley relay, which the Pride won with a time of 1:23.56, and swam the final leg of the 200 yard freestyle relay, with the Pride posting a time of 1:35.82. Luong's 100 yard backstroke time broke the pool record.

The Crimson and Gold return to action Saturday morning when they host Husson University in a dual meet starting at 11:00 a.m.
