SWIMMING & DIVING HOLDS ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

WESTON, Mass. – The Regis College swimming and diving program held their annual banquet last Friday. Team awards were presented as well as captains were named for the 2015-15 academic year.

The captains for next season will be Laura Holland (Mansfield, Mass.) and Lucia Llorente-Ruiz (Newton, Mass.) on the women's side, with Robert Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.) and Cassidy Bastianelli (Newton, Mass.) being named the captains of the men's team.

The team MVP awards were given to Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H.) and Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.). Coaches awards were given to Ali Butcher (Natick, Mass.), Shannan O'Neil (Lowell, Mass.), Cassidy Bastianelli and Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.).

The Most Improved Player awards were given to Jessica Higgins (Peabody, Mass.) and Brittany Burke (Bourne, Mass.) on the women's side, while Nick Rainville (Reading, Mass.) and Greg Sarantakis (Lowell, Mass.) took home the awards on the men's side.

Pins were awarded to the SAAC reps for the team that included O'Neil, Iandoli, Sarantakis, and Mike Panagiotakos (Methuen, Mass.), while Bowen and Sarantakis received pins for serving as the team captains this past season.

The teams also recognized each squad's academic excellence as 10 student-athletes had GPA's over 3.4 including Haley Bowen, Amanda Iandoli, Laura Holland, Shannan O'Neil, Ali Butcher, Ana Kudsi(Dover-Foxcroft, Maine), Robert Ekberg, Alex Graf, Kiet Luong, and Greg Sarantakis.
