REGIS SWIMS WELL DESPITE LOSS TO COLBY-SAWYER

London, N.H. - The Regis College men's and women's swimming & diving teams dropped a non-conference meet at Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon. The women fell, 182-89 while the men were defeated by a score of 164-93.

Junior Haley Bowen (Litchfield, N.H,) and sophomore Amanda Iandoli (Mansfield, Mass.) registered first place finishes for the Pride women. Bowen took first in the 1,000 Free with a time of 12:21.64 and first in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:38.30. Iandoli took home top finisher in the 500 Free (6:25.23).

It was a record breaking day for freshman Kiet Luong (Malden, Mass.). The rookie swimmer broke the pool record in the 200 Free and 200 Back, while also re-breaking his own school record in the 200 Back. He took first in both events after a 1:52.38 finish in the 200 Free and a 2:01.40 finish in the 200 Back. 

Alex Graf (Newton, Mass.) also swam well for the Pride men. The junior won both the 50 Free (22.30) and the 50 Fly (25.07). Luong finished in first place in the 100 Individual Medley (57.11), an event in which Graf finished just behind in second place (57.51).

Graf and Luong, along with sophomore Mike Panagiotakos (Methuen, Mass.) and freshman Robert Ekberg (Northbridge, Mass.), won the 200 Relay Medley after finishing the event in 1:45.37.

Both teams will return to action next Saturday with a meet at Elms slated for a 1 p.m. start.
