MANDIC AND ESTRADA NAMED REGIS COLLEGE ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

Weston, Mass.--The Regis College Athletic Department is proud to announce the student athlete’s of the week.  Christina Estrada (Bellingham, Mass./Blackstone Valley Tech ) and Djordie Mandic (Portland, Maine/Deering)  have been selected for their strong performances this past week at the TCCC Invitational and Saint Joseph College(Me.)meet.

 Mandic secured a strong finish at the Saint Joseph College (Me.) meet with a first place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.  Mandic continued with this strong performance registering a second place finish in the 200 freestyle with a time of 6:07.44. Mandic finished the day helping his team win the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:52.21.  Mandic transferred this success to the TCCC invitational. He finished first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:39.22.  Mandic then finished third in the 50 freestyle and broke the school record with a time of 22.78.

Estrada has been a strong force in the past few meets helping the Pride defeat Saint Joseph College (Me.) earlier this month and continued to excel at the TCCC invitational.

 At the TCCC invitational Estrada finished first in the 500 freestyle then went on to place second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:06.40.

At the Saint Joseph College (Me.) meet Estrada put together a complete performance that started with a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:03.40. Estrada continued these winning ways with yet another first place finish in the 100 breast stroke with a time of 1:16.14. Estrada finished the day helping her team win the meet by finishing strong in the 400 yard freestyle relay.
