THREE COME WITH UPSIDE TO SWIMMING PROGRAM

Weston, Mass.-Head coach Mike Kotch will bring in three talented swimmers for the 2009-10 recruiting class. With several returning player's from last year's team having made an appearance in the NEISDA Championships this incoming class will join a group with high expectations.

Andrew Garrity, (Middlebury, Conn./Sacred Heart)

Garrity was a member of the 2009 Class S Championship team, and he himself was a Class S champion in the 100-meter breaststroke. Garrity is both an All-State and All-City recognized swimmer.

Kotch on Andrew Garrity:

"Andy will provide an immediate boost to the program. He has the ability to be on of the top six qualifiers in his best events at NEISDA Championships as a freshman."

Stephen McGovern, (Dorchester, Mass./Boston College)

McGovern finished sixth in the 100m-breaststroke in the Massachusetts Division I State Championships, and was a member of the fourth place 200m medley relay team.

Kotch on Stephen McGovern:

"Stephen comes from a program with a history of championships. I look forward to working with him in developing his individual medley and improving his breaststroke."

Darren Laforest, (Roslindale, Mass./Another Course to College)

"Darren will add a spark in the sprint freestyle events," says Kotch. A spark will be exactly what the Pride will need in 2009. The men's team broke seven team records during the NEISDA Championships.

Kotch on Darren Laforest:

"He is a strong kid with a major upside. He is not only coach able, but seems to be eager to help move this program up the ranks in New England."
